THE PLEASURE OF EFFORT DESPITE THE ANTIBIOTICS ... ...
As mentioned in previous posts, I thought Saturday "good" of a long run. To be honest, after my initial program this long I should not do so, since ECT 42km of last week would allow me to "life annuity", but having deserted this last race I was forced to include in this session view Custoza Marathon.
In the absence of tenders that met the requirements I was looking for an opportunity, I opted for the classic "love / hate" around Montello, also known in local slang as jogging "circumcision", a name that makes the idea not only of breaches of the hill, especially since the breakup of c. ... the high stress that involves the nervous sitting; especially if the round is played alone, with a strong headwind in the first 15km and in a particularly hot and humid morning, all of which occurred by Saturday morning (evvài!).
Surely these adverse conditions are the main cause of the poor success of training, of altrocanto must be said that in the first few miles, as felt that his legs "turned" on duty, I realized that the wind made it difficult to keep pace I fixed (4'20 - 4'25 "/ km) but I still ostinai to maintain this pace despite what it meant to run with an expenditure of energy to think too much to resist for 32km (and even that it riscontrai now thanks to heart rate). These errors of presumption and superficiality in the race are paid and I know, I knew it, but I let myself be seduced by the challenge, the rest of the "extreme situations" is always better to test them in training to get ready for the worst races , so at least I think.
And so, after running the first 15km along the main road through the forest and the towns of Volpago Giavera Brentella along the channel (basically the path of 10miles of Montello in the opposite direction) wind down and steady pace, I found myself to face the second half of the race (which returns to Nervesa Biadene along the north side of Montello view of the river Piave) in trouble with much slower pace and certainly not the fault of the slopes. 2h34'38 "final time with whom I rode the 32.6 km and 260metri of elevation gain. It has been my third round of Montello, and even the first time I faced him (in February 2009, my first race over 30km) I was able to close it with a better time! 4'45 "/ km pace final demonstration of what I have slowed in the last km and above all to show that you should never rely on the rhythm but the heart rate, why are so many factors, both internal (health, fatigue, food , ...) and external (temperature, wind, humidity), that may affect the performance of the race. Anyway I'm very pleased with the workout, I managed to bite the bullet and finish the tour for all the effort (yet another good test of mental toughness) and, above all, I have not accused any muscular discomfort, let alone the fateful cramps that I have punctually accompanied in the last the last km long and the last two marathons.
To close the week with a flourish, I started on Sunday the 6th edition of the "Pas 4", non-competitive race starting and finishing at St. Peter's Barbozza (near Valdobbiadene) which saw the departure of about 1200 participants divided into 2 courses (6 and 13km).
The longer route, which branches to the beautiful surrounding hills and trails through vineyards, is so amazing how much harder, made more difficult by the rains of the night which made the steep slopes and slippery especially severe because the few flat stretches of mud. To complete the course climbs, steep descents as well as a real pleasure for my calves after 33km of yesterday! Nonstante overwork your legs behaved very well leading me to conclude 430metri of 12.8 km and elevation gain with a time of 1h03'00 ", 10 th overall, while on the podium rose Vettorel (first in 53 '), Geronazzo (2 ) and Zanatta (3). More than satisfied after a race so I can look with confidence to 2Rocche next Sunday!
